Assumption Studios is a recording, filming and green screen facility located in the north side of Glasgow, within a short distance from the City Centre and Byres Road - the heart and soul of Glasgow's West End. The studios are part of a former historical church that has been recently refurbished. The main building offers facilities such as green screen build space, one large filming/recording studio of over 400 square meters and another smaller one of 80 square meters. The site also provides a large car park and external green space area. When needing a coffee or lunch break, no need to exit the premises as the studio is equipped with a breakaway area and kitchen.
History
Built in 1953 and designed by architect Thomas S. Cordiner, what we know now as Assumption Studios was once "Our Lady of Assumption" Roman Catholic Church. Certain details of the church have been kept to tell its story through art and design while modern architecture has allowed for the space to be transformed for purpose of music & visual arts, more specifically film, music and digital industries.
Location
Easy connection to the main cities in the country. The site is 20 minutes away from Glasgow Airport and less than an hour away from Edinburgh Airport - both with direct flights to London (1 hour) and Manchester (30 min). It is also less than a 10 minute drive from Ashton Lane, Byres Road and the Botanical Gardens.
